SDO San Carlos City intensifies Cap-Build; 16 PDPs recognized by NEAP

A snapshot of success. The National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP), which is motivated by a commitment to ensure and maintain training standards and the quality of training delivery, serves as the direct line of such goal in designing and recognizing Professional Development Programs (PDPs) for teachers, school leaders, teaching, and non-teaching personnel. It’s encouraging to note that the Schools Division Office of San Carlos City received recognition for having the most PDPs approved in the recently held Regional Office I, NEAP Quarterly meeting on September 16, 2022. Loud and proud, SDO San Carlos City got 16 NEAP recognized PDPs, and is still waiting for the additional 5 proposed PDPs to be validated. These NEAP recognized PDPs are extremely beneficial because they can be used as credit for promotions. Moreover, these PDPs are also up for PRC recognition, which, if approved, will allow for the crediting of some CPD units toward PRC license renewal.

To further capacitate the teaching and non-teaching personnel of SDO San Carlos City, the division office through the School Governance Operations Division, Human Resource Development continuously promotes the submission of Professional Development Programs and be NEAP-recognized. Moreover, these are evidently acknowledged through the regional memorandum.

To wit, during the release of Regional Memorandum No. 874 s. 2022 titled “NEAP recognized Professional development Programs and Courses of Schools Division Offices (Batch 2), 6 PDPs were recognized namely: Training on Research methods and Designs and Research journal Writing; Division Training-Workshop on language Strategies in Teaching Science and Mathematics; Division Training-Writeshop on the Preparation of Higher Order Thinking Skills Test Questions in Science; Capacity Building of Newly Hired Teachers on Comprehensive Sexuality Education Integration Across Learning Areas; Project UP: Division Roll-Out on Literacy Instruction in Filipino for Grades 4-6 and Training-Workshop on the Utilization of Facilitator’s Kit in Mother-Tongue Literacy Instruction and Assessment.

The Program Owners were up in advancing and making SDO San Carlos City atop its goals. With this, another set of PDPs were recognized. The Batch 3 NEAP recognized PDPs were composed of the following trainings: Addressing Reading gaps for Optimum Learning in the New Normal; Capacity Building on Strategic Planning in School Based Management; Division Reskilling of School Heads on Instructional Supervision; Project HoNE (Home of Nurtured Educators -School Heads Academy) Self-Mastery in Leadership, Communication and Presentation Skills; Strategies and Pedagogy in Teaching MAPEH for the Newly Hired and Non-MAPEH Major; Strengthening the Monitoring and Evaluation System in Implementing PPAs and Training of Teachers in Designing IEC Materials and Developing School Website. To note, this batch tallied the highest number of approved PDPs, with 8 NEAP recognized trainings.

Concurrently, the office received another set of recognition whereas we had additional two PDPs being recognized titled “Project Up (Division Capability Building for Potential Learning resource Developers) and Division Training on Integrated Learning in Early literacy Childhood: Focus on Literacy and Numeracy.

Meanwhile, 5 more PDPs awaiting to be NEAP recognized in which these shall be conducted in the latter month of the 4th quarter.

Kudos to the SDO San Carlos City Human Resource Development Section and to the Program Owners.
